An Unexpected Trip – A Lasting Memory
Earlier this week, we welcomed Mike aboard Neverland. He came down simply to check whether his motorised wheelchair could be safely brought on board. But our volunteers Clive and Nick had something else in mind.
With perfect conditions and rods ready, they surprised him with an impromptu fishing trip – and it turned into a truly special day.
Mike, currently receiving end of life care, was completely in his element. With a beaming smile after every catch, he reeled in both dogfish and whiting, clearly enjoying every moment on the water.
It was a privilege to share this time with him. Moments like these go beyond the practical support we offer – they create real joy, connection, and memory-making for those facing some of life’s most difficult moments.
The best part? Mike enjoyed it so much, he’s already planning to join us again soon for another adventure.
At Mind Body & Sea, we believe time on the water can do more than offer a change of scenery – it can lift spirits, bring people together, and offer peace when it’s needed most.
These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do – bringing comfort, connection, and a little magic, one tide at a time.
