A Day to Remember with Blesma Veterans

Last week, Mind Body & Sea CIC had the absolute honour of welcoming a group of veterans from Blesma – The Limbless Veterans Charity aboard for a sea fishing trip they won’t soon forget.

Setting off from Suffolk Yacht Harbour, we couldn’t have asked for better conditions to spend a few peaceful and uplifting hours on the water. As soon as we dropped anchor, the fish started biting – and so did the friendly competition! The boat was quickly filled with the sound of laughter, banter, and shared excitement, creating an atmosphere that captured exactly what we strive for in every experience: a genuine sense of connection, community, and joy.

It was a real privilege for our team and volunteers to support these incredible individuals, each of whom has given so much in service. Watching the smiles, hearing the stories, and feeling the camaraderie grow throughout the day was a powerful reminder of the healing benefits that time on the water – and in good company – can bring.

We are especially grateful to FIS Windows Ltd for sponsoring the day and making it possible for us to offer this experience, and to Suffolk Yacht Harbour for their continued support in providing a smooth, inclusive environment that makes boarding and access seamless for all our guests.

At Mind Body & Sea, we believe in the power of blue spaces to support mental health, wellbeing, and community connection. Days like these show just how much of a difference time afloat can make.

We’re already looking forward to welcoming more participants on board for many more memorable days at sea.
